Tasty and Nutritious Homemade Sorghum-Oat Granola

A nutritious, crunchy, and delectable breakfast option, granola is produced with a number of components, such as oats, millet flakes, nuts, seeds, and dried fruits. It is consumed with yogurt, milk, or as a breakfast or snack item, similar to cereal. Snack bars are also prepared with it. Its oat and millet ingredients make it a high-fiber food that will keep you feeling full for a long time. Additionally, the fibers can eventually lower your cholesterol and helps in maintaining stable blood sugar levels.

An excellent source of antioxidants, nutrients, and healthy fat, granola is also packed with a variety of nuts, seeds, and dried fruits.

Breakfast is our first meal of the day, so it would be great to have so many nutrients in one meal. Making it at home is much simpler. So, let’s begin with the recipe for homemade granola that is crisp and healthful.

Ingredients for Granola:

Sorghum Flakes (Jowar): 2 cups

Rolled Oats: 1 cup

Chopped Almond: 1 cup

Raisins: 1/2 cup

sunflower seeds: 2 tablespoons

Pumpkin seeds: 2 tablespoons

Jaggery powder: 1/2 cup

Clarified butter (desi ghee): 2 tablespoons

Recipe of granola:

  1. First, add clarified butter (ghee) to a pan and heat it.
  2. Then, roast all the dry fruits and seeds on low heat and take them out.
  3. In the same hot pan, roast the sorghum flakes and rolled oats.
  4. Turn off the heat and gradually mix all the ingredients together.
  5. Let it cool down, and then add jaggery powder. (Adding jaggery powder while it’s hot can cause it to melt.)

Our testy, crunchy homemade sorghum-oats granola is ready.

Note:-1- Since we have already fried the dried fruits and nuts in clarified butter, do not add clarified butter (ghee) while roasting the flakes and oats. Once combined, the flakes will completely absorb the clarified butter from the dry fruits.

2-Depending on your taste and what is appropriate, you can add your preferred dry fruits, nuts, and seeds.

3-It can be kept in storage for up to two weeks.

Granola prepared with sorghum and oats gives a well-balanced combination of fiber, protein, vitamins, and minerals. Nutrients and good fat can be found in dried fruits, nuts, and seeds. This granola is a nutritional powerhouse in addition to being delicious.
