Dear, Diary…

According to psychology, an individual can have thousands of ideas at once. Is it accurate? I feel the same way now as I do when I write on the last page of my diary in December, the year’s last month, as though I’ve just finished reading a chapter and am summarizing it.

Dear, diary

You are my companion who is always with me.. You are the first to be aware of all my life’s highs and lows. Every day, every minute, in those little moments, there was sometimes more joy, sometimes more sadness, and occasionally fresh lessons that taught a different way of living. It’s written in your pages as well. As I write this in the last month of the year, it is ingrained in your mind that each season has changed throughout the year, and that the last month—what we call the cozy winter season—has finally arrived.

A light veil of mist frequently covers the world in a calm quiet during the morning. During this time, one can enjoy a warm cup of tea while observing the steam rising and dancing in the chilly air. Shorter days are accompanied with a unique type of light, a golden tint that highlights the season’s beauty and creates long shadows.

The bougainvillea flower is in full bloom in my courtyard, and its hues are still visible, serving as a reminder of the beauty and tenacity that endure throughout the winter. My birds, Phoenix and Falco, have also found a home after constructing a nest on our bougainvillea tree. With their two young children, they are contentedly thriving.

There is a natural tendency to look back as the year draws to a close, to consider the highs and lows, the lessons gained, and the growth experienced. It is also a time to make plans for the trip ahead and to dream about the possibilities that the new year may bring.

The Essence:

It’s a time to appreciate the small things, to find joy in the smallest things, and to welcome the tranquility that comes with the season because of the beauty of nature, the coziness of home, and the love that surrounds us.

The cold has increased here, the sunlight has softened, and in the evening, the whole family gathers around the fire, warming their hands and chatting away. It’s that time of the year again. How is the weather where you are?
