The Value of Water in Our Life

Without water, it is impossible to envision life on Earth. Water is a necessary component of almost every living thing and its cells. We are just more than half water. As a result, the body must have the proper amount of water, neither too little nor too much. For water to continue to be good for the body, it’s critical to know when, how much, and how to take it. Drinking clean water is just as vital to maintaining good health as eating a balanced diet. Water may be detrimental to the body rather than beneficial if it is drunk in the wrong amounts, whether too little, too much, or at the wrong time. It may do more damage than good to the body. Additionally, since the amount might be changed based on the season, it is crucial to drink water appropriately.

Water consumption supports the body’s healthy metabolism. A healthy metabolism encourages a healthy digestive system. Many illnesses can be avoided with a healthy digestive system. Maintaining proper hydration might also aid in reducing overeating. Water eliminates dangerous contaminants from our bodies and aids in the movement of nutrients throughout them. Instead of tea in the morning, experts advise having a glass of water.

A vital component of the human body, water is an important nutrient. Without food, we can live for weeks, but without water, we can only live for a few days. Water is necessary for the proper operation of all bodily systems, including essential organs, tissues, and cells.

What is the daily amount of water required?

It is recommended to drink 2 to 3 litres of plain water every day. However, this depends on factors such as the season and the size of the body. In summer, we sweat more, which increases the need for water intake. On the other hand, less water is consumed in winter. The amount of water one drinks also depends on physical labour. If a person is involved in work that causes excessive sweating, they should drink more water. Such individuals should consume 3 to 4 litres of water daily during summer.

How to consume water:

You should never drink water in a hurry. It is always best to sip it quietly and gently. Certain enzymes found in the mouth, such as amylase, combine in larger amounts and go to the stomach when we take little, leisurely sips of water. This facilitates better digestion.

A common recommendation is to always drink water when seated. There isn’t a set rule for this, though. Depending on how comfortable you are, you can drink water while standing or sitting. The important thing is to drink water slowly and comfortably whenever you can.

How to consume water:

Make sure you always drink simple water. Water that is delivered to households via municipal pipes or water purification systems is fit for human consumption. Drinking purified water is preferable than drinking unclean or odorous municipal pipeline water. In a similar vein, since borewell water is frequently salty and hard, it is best to install a purifier if your home taps them.

Drinking lukewarm water once or twice a day is acceptable throughout the winter months. Lukewarm water should be avoided in the summer, though, unless it is absolutely required, such as while taking medication or treating a cold. Water in a clay pot or simple water is the best option now that summer has arrived.

After waking up:

It’s crucial to drink water on an empty stomach. This technique is called Ushapan in Ayurveda. We typically sleep for 6 to 8 hours at night, and because we don’t drink enough water during this period, our bodies grow dehydrated. Therefore, drinking water first thing in the morning aids in restoring the body’s water balance.

Additionally, constipation can be lessened by drinking water in the morning on an empty stomach. Additionally, it helps the body eliminate toxic substances, which helps to avoid a number of illnesses.

Save Every Drop of Water:

Water is, therefore, very important in our existence. Water is essential to life on Earth, and its absence is unthinkable. All life on Earth depends on water, as we all know.

We must always make sure that water is conserved and never squandered. We all know how to save water, but the most important thing is to use whatever technique we can and raise awareness of the issue. In light of the current decline in groundwater levels, we need to exercise caution to avoid future depletion.

Conclusion:

In the same way that we may save money by accumulating pennies in a piggy bank, we can save water drop by drop to meet our needs, protect the environment, and guarantee that future generations never experience drought. Maintaining awareness and being proactive in water conservation is crucial.
